"BATTLE OF THE BATGIRLS"

The “Batgirls” project was actually written and drawn by an art team at D.C. Comics. I "aped" the story to put myself “through the paces” so to speak. For some reason me and the group of guys that I worked with at the time had a million ideas for different independent comic stories but none of us ever got around to doing them. We might not have completed any of those projects due to “fear of failure” or maybe just lack of confidence in our abilities to tell stories through sequential art, either way I figured simply completing a story I might shake whatever was slowing me down productively. So, I decided to draw a Batgirl story just to see if I had what it took to be a sequential artist. Since then, I have not become prolific or anything but I have worked steadily on building new projects, designing characters and, actually following through with what I've been day dreaming about for what seems like several lifetimes. "BLADE'S DILEMMA"

"Blades Dilemma" was a story that I did specifically to showcase my artwork at the 2004 Chicago Comicon. I stopped short of actually inking the peice because I seriously doubted that it would ever be published. After the success of the "Blade" in film and on T.V., I wonder why their has not been a major effort at Marvel to develope a monthly title. Who knows. Maybe in the near future we'll see one. J.A.H.

"SMOKER'S COUGH"
Here is some artwork from my next project SMOKER'S COUGH. It's a story about a smoker who feels it's her God given right to smoke where she pleases but there's a hulking Hero nearby that strongly disagrees.
